Notes on Commenting

Filed under: OTHER — thewritersblock @ 7:25 am

I have been really impressed so far with the quality of your writing!  We’re off to a great start with our eAnthology.  Just a couple of things to keep in mind this week and going forward:

  • Try to make sure everyone gets at least one comment.  This may not always happen, but if you see that a piece has several comments already, choose another piece to comment on.
  • Make sure that your comments are constructive, or helpful.  Saying “I like your poem a lot” is a nice  compliment, but it does not help the writer know what they did well.  Be more specific to make your feedback most helpful.
  • The first go around you received credit for simply posting and commenting; I did not mark down for content (or lack there of!).  For the remaining weeks, I will pay closer attention and you will not receive full credit for silly or random comments.

Keep up the great work.  I can’t wait to see what you write next!
